Frank Rockett has served the Queensland public in a variety of roles during his 30-year career.
Mr Rockett began his career as a teacher before serving many years as a school Principal. Since then, he has been appointed to positions as Regional Director, Assistant Director-General and Deputy Director-General for the Department of Education, as well as being the Chair of the Queensland School Sports Council.
In December 2001, Mr Rockett was appointed Director-General of Disability Services Queensland and the Department of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Policy. During his tenure at DATSIP, he was committed to implementing reviews and initiatives that reinvigorated staff performance and enhanced service delivery
In February 2004, Mr Rockett took up his current position as Director-General of the Queensland Corrective Services, and has been the driving force behind a remodelling of the Department's organisational and corporate governance structures.
Under his leadership, the Department has introduced a range of new projects and initiatives including a partnership with the Department of Justice and Attorney-General to share resources and develop joint policy initiatives; the trialling of the Winton WORC camp as an open custody centre; and a review of the Department's legislation.
