Corrective Services Legislation
Under existing Administrative Arrangements, the following legislation is administered by the Department on behalf of the Minister.
The Minister for Police and Corrective Services announced a review of the Corrective Services Act 2000 (the Act) in July 2004.
A major part of the review was a public consultation process, which commenced in September 2004. A series of issues papers were released publicly and distributed to key stakeholders.
The Corrective Services Act 2006 was passed by the Queensland Parliament on 25 May 2006.
