Judicial Liaison Unit
The Queensland Corrective Services Judicial Liaison Unit is responsible for facilitating engagement activities between Queensland Corrective Services and its judicial stakeholders.
The Judicial Liaison Unit is the first point of contact for judicial stakeholders on corrective services' operational and strategic matters. The unit provides a link between the work of corrective services and the courts.
Corrective Services Act 2006 and Court Ordered Parole
The Corrective Services Act 2006 commenced on 28 August 2006. The new Act is based on the principles of providing for the safe and humane containment, supervision and rehabilitation of prisoners and ensuring the safety of the community and the staff who work in the correctional system. The following presentation provides an overview of the changes to supervised early release brought about by the Corrective Services Act 2006 including the introduction of court ordered parole.

Court Ordered Parole - A Guide for Police Prosecutors
The Offender Management Branch has prepared the following sentence calculation guide in relation to court ordered parole to assist prosecuting authorities from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and Queensland Police Services. The guide will assist in the application of legislation and provide information to lawyers and police prosecutors outlining court-ordered parole as a sentencing option.
The purpose of the guide is to provide a detailed understanding of the effect of fixing a parole release date when an offender is convicted of an offence. The guide addresses, through a series of scenarios, the requirements of a court to fix or otherwise a parole release date.
